It’s mid-June and our family has been enjoying everything the summer brings. Some families relax during the summer but, for us, summer seems to be even busier than the school year. Alicia and I both work and the kids are in day camp and play sports. When we are home we love to visit the farmer’s market for fresh fruit, grill everything we can and play outside in the backyard.
To make the most of the summer we’ve been trying to travel as many places as we can, taking road trips, camping, exploring nature and heading to places in our area to have great quality time.
Our days are busy but we still try to make sure that the good habits our kids follow during the school year are continued in the summer. Some we are lax on, like going to bed on time and eating dessert before dinner.
Some are non-negotiable. Things like brushing their teeth and wearing sunscreen need to happen no matter how much fun we are all having.
This morning was a big rush for the boys and I, trying to get ready to leave for Jake’s last baseball game and pack for a trip to the city. I assumed once school was done our mornings would be a little more low key but I’ve found that’s not the case. We are still rushing around, whether packing lunches for camp, finding our swimsuits for a day by the lake or grabbing everything we need for a morning at the baseball field.
As we are getting ready to leave I always have to double check that they have everything they need and have brushed their teeth. We have been integrating Listerine Total Care into our families oral care routine for months now so so that all the mouths are totally taken care of but I find that the kids still need reminders.
