Temporal Artery Thermometer Review & Giveaway

Lucas at the Doctor today. He has the flu :(

Lucas woke up today fussy, coughing, and warm to the touch. After we got him something to drink I went to take his temperature. This is something that I normally dread doing because he hates sitting there while I hold a little thermometer under his arm. It just makes him even more miserable than he is already feeling.

Luckily I had a new thermometer to test out. The Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer is perfect for kids like Lucas because it only takes a few seconds to get an accurate temperature. I don’t have to lift up his shirt to stick something under his arm with this one which he really liked. This thermometer also makes taking temperatures of sleeping children easy!

The biggest plus for me as a mom was that it took the temperature in just three easy steps. All I had to do was press and hold a button while I moved the thermometer across his forehead. When I got to the end I just released the button and then I could read the temperature in the display window. I liked that the thermometer even beeped to let me know I was using it correctly.

When it comes to accuracy, I felt this thermometer was pretty right on the temperature. I also took it multiple times in a row to see if the temperature would change (like my old thermometer did) but the numbers were pretty consistent. The reading was a degree higher than what it was at the Doctor but he had medicine before we left so I think that was why. Reading more about the thermometer I saw that this thermometer was so accurate because it took 1,000 readings per second.
