Infant To Toddler Bathwrap {Review and Giveaway}

I recently reviewed the Aacua by Maamam which is a 4 in 1 bath towel. The mom can wear it as an apron, can use it as a towel, can wrap a baby in it, and it can be used as a bathwrap for a toddler or preschooler. I like that it can be used for years instead of having to switch from infant towels to adult towels when the baby gets larger.

Since I have a 2 and 3 year old my children only used it as a bathwrap. Here is a picture of Jacob wearing the Aacua after bathtime:

Though the company provides in depth instructions for using the product, I thought it was easy to use as an apron (for mom) and a bathwrap (for child). The item even has color coded velcro to make it easier to use. I thought the towel was soft and it was very thick, unlike most of the infant towels I used for my children when they were younger that were thin and rough.

GIVEAWAY:

One lucky reader will win a Maamam Aacua bath product

Tommee Tippee Digital Storybook Review {And Newborn Starter Kit Giveaway}

I normally don’t review web or phone applications, especially ones that I can’t use, but when Tommee Tippee shared this one with me I just HAD to pass it on! Tommee Tippee, a brand that makes products for babies, has a new digital storybook application called The Day Baby Was Born. This innovative free digital storybook is a simple way to capture moments of pregnancy and the birth day through the gathering of Facebook posts, a selection of birthday news and facts and the collection of precious memories through a pregnancy journal.

Here are some of the features I discovered I loved while looking around the application:

-You can include comments from your Facebook wall so it keeps all the well wishes from your child’s birth day. Even better? You can only include the comments that you want to and you can choose to add the person’s profile picture or no picture (great for those people with friends and family who do not have the most modest profile picture).

-You can add news from the day and facts about the time period to the storybook. You can choose what you want to be included. On Luke’s birth day a scandal erupted about a politician’s affair and that is something I’d rather not have in his storybook (I know this because I got a birth day wall hanging from a different company and they included the affair on it!).

-You can include entries from your pregnancy journal to chronicle the pregnancy.

-You can include pictures of the ultrasound and pictures after birth.

-You can answer question prompts but the question can also be changed for a dad, sibling, or other family member to answer so everyone can have a chance to help create the storybook and the everlasting memories.

One thing I would change was when I put in my due date I got this response: “Your Due Date Was 792 Days Ago. Still waiting? We know, you’re ready, already! If baby refuses to budge in a few weeks, your doctor may want to induce labor, but for now, take it in stride and relax.” It made me laugh out loud at the thought of being pregnant that far past my due date so I would maybe suggest the company change the wording :)

Overall, I really like this web application and how it integrates with Facebook. Now on to the giveaway… Last summer I reviewed the toddler line of products from Tommee Tippee and really liked them. My post was titled “I’ve Found A Toddler Cup That Doesn’t Leak!!!” because the cup really was leak proof! It was great. I don’t have that fantastic toddler cup to give away but I do have a Tommee Tippee Newborn Starter Kit!

Carmex Review and Giveaway

As part of the Carmex blog squad I get to try out new Carmex products. This past month the company sent me three of their newer products. I tried the Carmex Vanilla Click Stick, Carmex Lime Click Stick, and the Carmex Moisture Plus Clear Satin Gloss Finish.

My favorite was the Carmex Vanilla Stick. Vanilla is one of my favorite scents so I loved the smell of it. I like that I feel a little tingle when I put the lip balm on my lips because it seems like I’m feeling my lips heal. My lips looked shiny when I had it on (as opposed to some that make my lips look matte and dull). After a couple days of wearing it I notice that my lips are smoother which is my main reason for wearing the chap stick in the first place. I also liked the Moisture Plus chapstick. I didn’t like the flavor and scent of the Lime one because I’m not a fan of Limes but Sinisa liked it.

1 Carmex Lime Twist click stick

1 Carmex Vanilla click stick

If you know a child who loves to dance you will LOVE this sweepstakes and giveaway! Cool Cuts 4 Kids {Review and Giveaway}

Lucas is one of those kids that constantly seems to be needing a haircut so I was excited to visit Cool Cuts 4 Kids for the first time. As soon as I walked in I knew the place would be a hit with both my children. I loved that there were things to keep the kids busy while they waited to get their hair cut. There was a television playing kids shows and a “game” wall for the older kids to play video games.

We went in the early afternoon. I had scheduled an appointment but we would have been okay that day just walking in without an appointment too since there was no wait. It did get busier right around the time we were leaving so I’d recommend making an appointment if you can.

The person that cut my son’s hair did a great job. She asked me what I wanted done to his hair and didn’t judge me when I said, “I really don’t care. I just don’t want to have to get another haircut in another couple weeks.” I always thought I’d be one of those parents who was really particular about my children’s hairstyles but I’m just not that way. She was very thorough cutting his hair and even asked me if he would be ok with clippers before she used them on him. I think he looked adorable with his new haircut and he enjoyed watching Toy Story 2 and didn’t even seem to care that someone was doing something with his hair.

Haircuts are about $18 so since I had a gift card I picked up some hair care products for the kids. They were buy one, get one half off plus I received 20% off my entire purchase because it was my first time in the salon. With the purchase of two hair care items I also got a free Cars 2 set which I’m putting away for the first day of school. The employees had difficulties with the register which was frustrating since I was holding my two year old for 15-20 minutes but they kept apologizing and in the end gave me Luke’s haircut for free to make up for keeping me waiting while they figured out the register issues. I thought that was nice of them and overall I had a positive experience so I would return. (Though I do wish they had a store closer to my home since this salon was about 45 minutes away from my house.)

Wisharoo Park Review and Giveaway (5 Winners)

Do you have a preschooler? If so, you need to check out Wisharoo Park. Wisharoo Park is, according to the website, “a multimedia edutainment series designed to help children ages 3-6 recognize and appreciate their own individuality. With its technology-based curriculum, Wisharoo Park helps children discover and understand their own personal strengths and in doing so, develop greater self-esteem and a positive self-image. Unique among hundreds of preschool programs, Wisharoo Park is specifically focused on teaching social skills and building self-esteem.”

Wisharoo Park’s website is full of fun for children and parents to do together. There are games to play, videos to watch, and activities to do offline. Some of my favorite activities are: “Quiet Monkey, Noisy Monkey” in which children learn about where they can be loud and where they need to be quiet and also the “Politeness Party” where children practice saying “please” and “thank you”.

There are also Wisharoo Park DVD’s. Jacob really enjoyed watching the ones we received for review. I like them because they teach social skills. As many of you know, my boys have sensory issues, and they are still learning what appropriate behavior in social settings looks like. I like that these episodes really focus on and model correct social behavior.

Tellurian Baby Skin Care Review and Giveaway

I recently received the line of Tellurian Baby skin care products to review. On first glance I loved them because of their bright colors and fun swirly pumps. Upon use I liked that the lotions weren’t greasy and the body wash made our skin feel soft (yes, moms can use it, too!). The scented products all smelled wonderful. I think best of all though, is the fact that these products are natural so they are safe for children and won’t irritate their delicate skin.

As someone who loves working with charities I was also happy to see that Tellurian Baby donates a portion of every sale to charities helping children around the world.

Kidzikoo Review and Giveaway

We recently had the chance to review the Kidzikoo which is like a Koozie for kids. This product is perfect for keeping juice, milk, and water cool, especially during the hot summer months when we are playing outside. Nobody (including children) want something lukewarm to drink, they want a cool refreshing drink! I loved that the Kidzikoo fit like a glove on our Playtex sippy cups. They soaked up the condensation from the cup and didn’t leave wet spots on the couch or table.

The Kidzikoo currently comes in five patterns (shown above). I love the Lucia print and think the owls are so cute! I also like the zig zag stitching on them. Overall, the Kidzikoos are fun and functional.

Dinosaur Whirl Review and Giveaway

Dinosaur Whirl is a new game from Pressman. The game is for children ages 3 and up in which each player goes on a hunt for dinosaur eggs.

Jacob and I played the game this past week. It was relatively easy to set up except the playing track pieces took me a few minutes to figure out how they went together. The directions for playing the game are simple to follow. The game doesn’t take long to play which is perfect for Jacob’s short attention span. I was surprised at how quickly he learned how to roll the die and figure out which spot to move his playing piece to.  He liked collecting the eggs and thought it was funny when the dinosaur knocked down the playing pieces with his tail. Overall, we had a great time playing the game together.

Fandango and Cars 2 {Review and Giveaway}

Our family does not go out to the movies very often but when something comes out that one of us really wants to see we will go to the theater to see it. Cars 2 was one of those movies. Every time a commercial for the movie would come on TV, Jacob (my 3 year old) would tell me he wanted to watch it.

I recently downloaded the Fandango application on my mobile phone which makes going to the movies a little easier. From my phone I can search for movie times and theater locations, read reviews of movies, and even order my tickets. Normally I would read the reviews of movies if it’s a movie I want to see but if it’s a children’s movie I don’t read the reviews. I loved the convenience of the application. I looked up movie times for Cars 2 and bought my tickets while sitting in a hospital waiting room. To learn more about how easy it is to use the Fandango mobile application you can view my ThisMoment story.

Right now Fandango is running a fun promotion for Cars fans! When you buy your tickets on Fandango you get a FREE iTunes download of the Tokyo Mater short film from Pixar. That’s a great added bonus for something we were going to purchase anyways :)

This was Jacob’s first time seeing a movie in a movie theater. I was worried that he wouldn’t sit through the whole thing but he sat through all of it until the last ten minutes or so when he wanted to stand and try climbing over the seats in front of us. He said that he liked the movie and as soon as it was over he said he wanted to watch it again. I thought the movie was good but I liked the first one more. I think the first one was geared towards younger children and the new movie is for older children. The storyline was a little too complex for a three year old and some of the material was, in my opinion, a little inappropriate for younger viewers.

Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car.  But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.  Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile (voice of Michael Caine) and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell (voice of Emily Mortimer).  Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.  The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.

Announcing My Type A Parent Conference Sponsor (And A Giveaway)

I am pleased to announce my ticket sponsor to the Type A Parent Conference is New Blog Hosting. New Blog Hosting offers affordable blog hosting and also blog design. I am excited to be helping represent this company for a number of reasons:

In discussing how we would work together and what his goals were Peter said the following in an email to me: “helping people is more important than making money.” Obviously, everyone wants to make money but he really wants to go to this conference to share his expertise and knowledge with others. That is the kind of business owner he is and those are the kind of people that I like to work with.

Another thing I love about New Blog Hosting is that $15 of every hosting package bought goes to Charity. Peter and his family are saving money to buy a well for people in Africa. I wrote about this cause back in March because it’s important to me, too!

So he likes to help others and money goes to charity…but what about the hosting? you may ask. For $35 per year you get reliable hosting. He will even help with data transfer if you already have a blog and need help moving it. I have never transferred my site but I have heard horror stories about lost data. I couldn’t imagine posts I’ve lovingly written gone because I attempted to do things myself.

***

Will you be at the Type A Conference next weekend?

If so, watch for tweets from me to find out where I am throughout the conference. Exchange business cards with me and have the chance to win either a year of hosting from New Blog Hosting or a Starbuck’s gift card! I also may have an extra treat to share with you but you’ll just have to wait to see what it is ;)

***

Not going to make the Type A Parent Conference?

That’s ok because I have something for you, too! You can enter to win a year of hosting (and assistance in transferring your site if needed).

HOW TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY:

(You may do any or all of the following)

1. Sign up for the New Blog Hosting e-newsletter

2) Follow @NewBlogHosting on Twitter

3) Follow @aliciamarie112 on Twitter

The Best Family Destinations (Book Review and Giveaway)

I was sent a copy of The Complete Idiot’s Guide To The Best Family Destinations to review. This book covers the top 150 destinations in the US, Canada, and Mexico. I also found a few places I’d love to travel with my family like Santa Claus, Indiana and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Each location in this book has information on the area, tourist attractions, and a website and phone number. There are fun facts, vacation planning tips, and notes from fellow travelers sprinkled throughout the book. The book also includes an appendix in the back with a list of the “best of the best” towns. This makes it easy to find a location based on what you are looking for (best beach, best cultural and historical attractions, best amusement park, etc.)

Celebrate Father’s Day Dino-Style (And A Giveaway For The Kids)

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19th, and the clan from Dinosaur Train would love to help you celebrate!

Why not kick off Father’s Day starting with a special Dino Breakfast, made especially for Dad! Then, Buddy recommends that everyone have some Dino Fun and play The Dinosaur Train All Aboard Game.

So to start the day, here are some healthy, easy-to-make menu ideas to prepare with your child! Explain that he/she is going to help to prepare a special breakfast for Dad that could be served Aboooooooooard – the Dinosaur Train!

·       T.rex Footprint Pancakes – with adult help, children shape the batter into the large three-toed feet of a Tyrannosaurus.

·       Paleontologist Pancakes – make small pancakes, then stack them up 5 or 6 high (maybe putting apple sauce or sour cream between them), and hiding “fossils” between the layers – the fossils being pieces of strawberry, banana slices, chocolate chips, and so on.

·       Stegosaurus Smoothie – a colorful, healthy fruit smoothie made with a blend of yogurt, a frozen banana, and any other fruit you wish. Serve it on a dish with a rim. In the middle of the dish, place a line of triangular fruit pieces – such as pineapple, apples, or cantaloupe. These little fruity triangles will look like the plates on a stegosaurus’ back.

·       Triceratops Eggs – scrambled eggs that have “horns” sticking out of them – made of breadsticks.

Your child can write and design the menu to announce all the tasty food they will be serving (You can help your younger ones to do the writing, of course!) And before preparing any food, have a discussion about safety in the kitchen. What are some jobs that are good for kids to do? What jobs should be handled by an adult?

You can also show your child a clip from Gilbert the Junior Conductor in which the Pteranadon Family enjoys eating breakfast on the Dinosaur Train.

Then, everyone can gather round to play The Dinosaur Train All Aboard Game! In this game, players will choose a character – Buddy, Tiny, Shiny, Don, Cory, Tank or Mr. Conductor – and try to move the fastest along the tracks.  Speed through the three dinosaur eras: Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous along the beautiful scenery.  Special Stopwatch spaces will help you get closer to the nest, while Dinosaur Crossing spaces will send you back.  The first player to reach the nest area in the center of the board wins. The game is for 2 to 6 players ages4+.

To finish off your fun Father’s Day, you might want to go on a nature hike. You’ll need a high-energy snack for the road! Explain that paleontologists sometimes have to explore remote areas, so ask kids to create a mix of healthy nuts, dried fruit, and maybe dried cereal to make Dad’s Favorite Trail Mix!

 GIVEAWAY:

One reader will win The Dinosaur Train All Aboard Game! See my review of the game here.

HOW TO ENTER:

Little Lasso Review and Giveaway

We recently had the chance to review The Little Lasso on our trip to the zoo. I loved that it has an adjustable fit and fits snuggly around any sippy cup that we put it on. The fabric choices are fun and hip and they are machine washable which is fantastic. The Little Lasso is long enough for the child to comfortably drink out of while it’s hooked on to the stroller, cart, or highchair. Overall it kept the sippy cup off the floor which was the main purpose of the product.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES Giveaway

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES sails into theatres May 20, 2011 in Disney Digital 3D.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

Sinisa and I saw the movie at a press screening and we think it is a must see! I think this movie is the best Pirates movie yet. Sinisa said, “it was awesome. Great  new beginning and an enticing invitation to more adventures.”

One lucky Making Time For Mommy reader will win a prize pack from Disney including:

-PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES t-shirt (adult sizes)

Mommy Jingles Review and Giveaway

Research shows that music stimulates a baby’s brain and helps them learn. Mommy Jingles is an online music class that teaches busy moms how to introduce music to their children (ages 0-3) throughout the day. Mommy Jingles turns every day tasks, like changing diapers, into quality moments with your child. Upon signing up parents receive weekly “lessons” for 8 weeks. Each week includes MP3’s of the jingles, reminder cards with lyrics written down, and Amy demonstrating the songs and movements. Here is a list of what you will get each week:

What the website says:

Benefits for the child

  • Clear, consistent communications from parents
  • Intimate interactions with parent or caregiver
  • Improved listening skills
  • Improved vocabulary
  • Foundations of literacy, music, math and linquistic skills.

Benefits for the parent

  • Solutions to common problems
  • Increased confidence
  • Less anxiety and stress
  • Better behaved child

What this mommy thinks:

Wow! There is so much information to take in. We are still going through all of it but I wanted to share what I have found so far:

As a previous preschool teacher I didn’t know how much I would get out of this class but I am learning a lot from Amy’s ideas. Jacob has a very hard time transitioning and I have been using some of the things that I learned during week 2 with him and it seems to be helping him. I love that there are lyrics that can be printed out for those days when we, as moms, can barely remember our child’s name. I am also so grateful that they added videos for those of us with “slower” computers :)

BUY IT:

Mommy Jingles offers a year’s subscription for $197 but Amy is extending a $100 discount to Making Time For Mommy readers so a year’s subscription is only $97! (leave a comment below if you’d like the discount code) She also offers a 30-day money back guarantee.

WIN IT:

One lucky reader will win a year’s subscription to Mommy Jingles!

ProFlowers Review and Giveaway

It’s a well known fact that most women love flowers. Personally, seeing flowers in a vase brightens my day so I was excited to be able to do a review for ProFlowers and then gift a bouquet of 30 purple tulips to my Grandma for Easter.

I received the flowers in a box on Friday morning and all day long they sat in the unopened box because I thought I was going to make it to my Grandma’s house that day to drop them off. Late that evening before I went to bed I took the flowers out of the box and stuck them in a vase full of tap water. To be honest I was a bit worried because they were looking kind of droopy since I hadn’t put them in water right away. The next day I noticed the flowers had perked up and by Sunday afternoon I had a beautiful bouquet of vibrant purple flowers to bring to Easter dinner.

ProFlowers ships their tulips in bud form, which means that they haven’t fully developed.  I was told the flowers would stay fresh for at least a week which gives my Grandma lots of time to enjoy the tulips!

If you are still looking for a Mother’s Day gift you can find a great variety of Mother’s Day flowers on the ProFlowers website. Since I know a lot of you love coupons be sure to check out their coupon page where you can save up to 20% off your order and find out how to get a free vase and weekday delivery among other deals.

Of The Earth Jewelry Review and Giveaway

With Mother’s Day coming up I’ve been checking out different “mom” jewelry. I loved Of the Earth‘s unique jewelry. They have beautiful nest necklaces and rings that can be customized by wire color, pearl color, and amount of pearls. Randee also makes initial jewelry and Verdigris Bird jewelry.

I chose to review a nest necklace with a “mother” bird and three pearls- two blue ones to represent my boys, Jacob and Lucas, and a cream colored pearl to represent Avery, Jacob’s twin I lost while pregnant. The necklace is beautiful in person…my picture of it really doesn’t do it justice!

I am excited that not only did I get to review a piece of jewelry from Of The Earth but I get to give a piece away here on my blog! One lucky winner will receive a nest ring. It would make a great sentimental piece for yourself or as a gift to a mom you know.

Purex Complete with Zout Review and Giveaway

From the website: Purex® Complete with Zout® combines the proven performance of Purex detergent with the triple-enzyme stain-fighting power of Zout® pretreater. This powerful combination works to get stains out the first time, even tough stains like grass, chocolate, and tomato sauce.

My thoughts: I reviewed the Fresh Morning Burst scent detergent and thought it smelled good without being too overpowering. I put a load of laundry in the washer which included bed linens and pajamas. My toddler had decided that instead of telling me he had a dirty diaper he would just take it off… by himself… in bed. I’m sure you get my drift and can figure out the stains that covered these items. The verdict- the linens came out smelling fresh and were stain free without any pre-soaking.

I normally just buy the cheapest detergent on the shelf so I love that this detergent with stain fighter is a great price, too! ($3.49-$7.99 depending on size and retailer)

Pretty Neat Book Review and Giveaway

I love reading books about organization but often end up feeling worse about my organizational skills when I’m done reading them than I did when I started.  Pretty Neat: The Buttoned-Up Way To Get Organized and Let Go Of Perfection by the creators of Buttoned Up is not that kind of book. Within the first 10 pages of Pretty Neat I was given the go ahead to create “good enough” goals. I loved that the authors also shared that I should not apologize to anyone for the shortcuts that I take and the chores that might not get done. This was so freeing. I no longer feel like a failure that every room in my house doesn’t look like it came from the pages of a magazine.

I read this book cover to cover in just a few days and recommend keeping a paper and pen handy for jotting down ideas from the book you’d like to implement and their page numbers in case you’d like to go back and read it over. I liked the real life “tips” from moms on how they keep organized and where they take short cuts. I thought I would share some of my organizing short cuts, too.

*Pictures- I had a box full of professional pictures from Jake and Luke’s first years of life. I had planned on putting them into scrapbooks but as my boys are close to turning two and three I recently realized I just needed to get them organized. I used clear plastic sheets to put the pictures  into a binder by month. Now if I never get around to scrapbooking the pictures at least I have done something with them and they are in some sort of chronological order.

*Papers to be filed- Filing papers is probably one of my least favorite activities. Since most of what I file is “just in case” papers (ie. warranties, bank statements, tax papers)  I stick the papers I know I won’t need in the next month in a big bin and then I spend an afternoon filing papers every 6 months or so. My desk stays clutter free and my time-sensitive papers (which I keep in a basket) don’t get lost amongst the other ones.

*Mail- I wait to check the mail until a time of the day that I know I will have a minute to go through it. I look at everything right then and there and don’t save anything to look at “later” (because, for me, later never comes). Junk and ads go directly into the trash. Bills get removed from their envelopes and put into my household binder with the rest of the bills. Anything that needs attention is written as a “to-do” on my daily list and put into a pocket of my household binder. I don’t leave anything on the counter because I’ve learned it piles up fast!

GIVEAWAY:

One reader will receive a copy of the book, Pretty Neat.

HOW TO ENTER:

(Do any or all of the following)

1) Share an organizing tip in the comments below.

2) Share an area of your life that needs to be organized.

Organize It Mom! Review and Giveaway

Organize It Mom! has great motivational tools for both moms and kids. As someone who likes organization and lists I’ve fallen in love with these products. In looking at the site to figure out which one I wanted to review I had a hard time deciding. There were potty training charts which would be great since we are currently potty training Jacob. Toy labels would be great for bins of toys to  help the boys see what toys go in each bin when cleaning up. There is even a grocery/menu list which would have been perfect in helping me organize my menu planning. It was a hard decision but I decided I wanted to review the Today’s Fun chart.

I love this chart because it helps Jacob (who is 2 and a half) see what is coming up next. I’ve found it especially helpful for showing Jacob when his dad will be home. I can show him the chart and say “after we finish eating snack we will play and then daddy will come home”. He likes helping move the pieces over on the chart from the “do it” to the “did it” column. Each chart comes with a few extra pieces that are blank so we could write what we need on them which was a nice addition to the product.

BUY IT:

All products can be found on the Organize It Mom! website. Everything is really affordable, too.

WIN IT:

Organize It Mom! is giving one Making Time For Mommy reader a $10 gift certificate to choose a product they would like.

EZ Sox Review and Giveaway

We are working with Jacob on putting his clothes on. He can do pants and shirts with help but has a very hard time with socks. We had a chance to try out EZ Sox, the “I can do it” sock.

EZ Sox are created with little kids in mind. The socks have little loops on the top so children can easily pull the sock up over their foot. The socks come in plain colors and some have animal faces. The animal faces show children which side is up. They also feature non-skid bottoms.

Jacob putting on his socks.

Jacob is only two years old so to help  him I put the  sock on his toes and he pulled them on. A huge plus of these socks for us is that they are seamless. Jake was recently diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder which causes him to be picky about what he wears so he normally takes his socks off within a short time of having them on. This time though? He left his socks on all day long! I was very impressed by these socks and will be purchasing more for him.

BUY THEM:

EZ Sox are available for sale on their website. They also offer free shipping on orders of $40 or more!

WIN THEM:

One reader will win a pair of their choice of EZ Sox.

Social Deal Map Review and Restaurants.com GC Giveaway

There are hundreds of “deal” sites all over the internet. Wouldn’t it be great if all the daily deals were in one spot?

Well… now they are!

Social Deal Map aggregates deals from numerous group buy websites and displays them on a map. New deals are added frequently. The map pinpoints all local deals available and you can easily check out what is available nearby. Here is the map of the Chicago area. You can see the colored dots where deals are located and if you hover your mouse cursor over them the deal pops up on your screen.

There is also a list of local deals in the left sidebar. Here is a sampling of the options that are currently around me:

I love that there is a RSS subscription option so instead of getting emails from all the different deal sites I would get emails from only one website.

It is also useful for people who commute or travel often. Just by browsing the map, you can find out what is available on your way to your destination or at your destination.

GIVEAWAY:

SocialDealMap.com is giving away a $25 Restaurants.com gift card to one lucky reader.

HOW TO ENTER:

Zippies: “Pals That Hang Around” Review and Giveaway

I’ll be honest… when I first heard of Zippies I had no idea what they were. I looked them up online and thought they would be fun to review but had no idea how much Jacob would love them (he can’t pronounce his z’s so he calls them his “bippies”). Zippies are hanging character tags that can be used for identification purposes. The boys loved to just sort through all of the characters. They have space on the back to write on so they can be used for many things. We will use them for identifying whose bag is whose when they go to Grandma’s and will hang them from water bottles so we can easily tell which ones belong to us. Here are some suggested uses for Zippies:

Zippies can be purchased online or in specialty retailers (http://shop.zippiesfun.com/). You can also enter here on Making Time For Mommy to win some!
