A Holiday Meal For Under $25

Holiday dinners are some of the best meals of the year. They can also be some of the priciest. In an effort to save a bit of money I headed to Save-A-Lot to fill up my cart and create a simple holiday meal for less than $25.

One of the side dishes I love during the holidays is sweet potatoes. They can be made fresh but when I’m short on time I use candied yams that come in a delicious syrup. I add marshmallows on top and then bake until the marshmallows are slightly toasted. It is so easy and everyone loves them!

To complete our holiday meal we had ham and freshly baked rolls. All the ingredients (including half a ham which gave us leftovers for days) was less than $25!

Here was the cost breakdown (prices may vary):

  • Spiral ham: $19.52
  • Rolls: $0.99
  • Candied yams (2 cans): $2.58
  • Marshmallows: $0.99

What is your favorite side dish during the holidays?
