Verizon’s HopeLine For Domestic Violence

This holiday season you can support Verizon’s fight against domestic violence.  Nearly one in four women, one in seven men, and over 3 million children have been affected by domestic violence. Wireless phones and technology can serve as a vital link to emergency or support services in a time of crisis or as a reliable, safe connection to employers, family and friends as survivors rebuild their lives.

HopeLine® from Verizon puts the nation’s most reliable network to work in the community by turning no-longer used cell phones into support for domestic violence victims and survivors. If you will be receiving a new phone this Christmas please consider donating your old phone to this great cause.

(Disclosure: I am participating in the Verizon Wireless Midwest Savvy Moms program and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.)

  2. I didn’t know about Verizon’s promo helping fight domestic violence. When I was working at an elementary school many of my students were in a woman’s shelter. My family and I helped alot…donating clothes, school supplies and hygiene products like soap and toothpaste. I would rather be a “hands-on” helper so I can get personally involved with the individual. I lost touch with that part of myself. They need help & support any time of the year. I will make an effort to get involved again this year and find a shelter close to me now that I’ve moved out of state.
