Hashbrown Casserole Recipe #OreIdaFries

One of my favorite side dishes for years has been the hashbrown casserole that my mom made and that my grandma continues to make. It tastes delicious and is one of those things I always go back for seconds of.

Ingredients:

-2 pounds of hashbrowns

-1/2 cup of melted butter

-1 teaspoon of salt

-1/2 cup chopped onions

-1/3 teaspoon of pepper

-1 can cream of chicken soup

-1 small container of sour cream

-1 cup shredded cheese

-2 cups corn flakes (crushed)

Directions:

Mix cream of chicken soup and sour cream together in a large bowl.
Add shredded cheese and chopped onions and stir.
Add hashbrowns and stir well. Put hashbrown mixture in a casserole dish (I prefer large rectangular ones)
In a small bowl melt butter in the microwave. Add crushed cornflakes and stir.
Sprinkle a little extra cheese on top of casserole (if desired). Spread cornflake mixture on top of casserole.
Preheat oven. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.

While shopping at Sam’s Club this week I bought a package of Ore-Ida Hashbrowns for this recipe and saw that there was a similar recipe on the back of that bag. The above recipe was the one my family uses. You can see more pictures of my shopping trip and step by step cooking steps by viewing my slideshow here. I also bought Ore-Ida Sweet Potato Fries by Heinz…if you haven’t tried these sweet potato fries you don’t know what you are missing! They are a great alternative to regular french fries.

(Disclosure: This project has been compensated as part of a #OreIdaFries shopping mission for Heinz with #CollectiveBias. All opinions are my own.)
