My favorite reason for sending cards in the mail is that there is nothing like being able to spark memories when you read an old card.

  5. I’m also a fan of sending “just to say hi” cards in the mail, with birthdays as a close second. omydarlingblog(at)gmail(dot)com

  6. I work at a summer camp and I love getting letters, so I make it a point to write them! I think letters (and phone calls) are way more personable than e-mail and Facebook which seems to be our main means of communication these days. And since I save every letter written to me (and read them sometimes!) I make sure to make all the letter’s I write meaningful.

  10. I love sending thank you cards to people who don’t expect it. Like a thanks to the guitar player at church who I really enjoy watching worship. Or a thanks to the clerk at the grocery store who helped a little extra.

  21. My favorite reason for sending cards in the mail are to the people I know who live far away and I can’t see them in-person. Plus, I know how exciting it is to receive something REAL in the mail (not just a bill) so I like to extend that to others, too!

  22. Birthday cards are always fun!

  23. My favorite reason is to stay connected, the receiver is able to read the note they get when it is the best time for them, and it’s then often appreciated more. I love receiving notes in the mail, doesn’t everyone.
