Ultimate Blog Party- Welcome Friends!

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Subscribe So You Don’t Miss A Post! :)

Thanks for visiting me today! I am so excited about this party and all the wonderful friends I will make. (Yes, you will be my friend immediately. I’ve been like that since I was little. Ask my mom. I’d be at the playground and anyone who I played with was automatically “my friend”.)

My Family

To introduce myself I thought I would post a list of 10 things you should know about me:

1) Being a mother is the best job I have ever had and also my most challenging.

2) I am madly in love with Sinisa.

3) I try to be organized and I am a huge list maker.

4) My children need to match. Mismatched outfits are one of my biggest pet peeves. Don’t know what I’m gonna do in a few years when they want to pick out their own outfits :0

5) Caffeine is my friend… chocolate, pop, flavored coffee drinks- love them all!

6) I tend to over commit myself and take on more than I can handle.

7) I love to shop but I am super cheap (“frugal” is the new word for it I guess…)

8) I love to read but other than my Bible haven’t read an actual book in a while.

9) I love my extended family and my mommy friends and am so thankful for the support that they give me through all the hard times.

10) Perhaps most of all it’s important for you to know that I believe in God and that Jesus died for me (and you!).

What can you expect to find on my blog?

Posts about my family, stories about my Spiritual walk, my obsession with participating in memes around the blogosphere (gotta show love to my fellow blogging friends), information about Charities that I support, reviews/giveaways, and so much more!

Want to get to know me better? There are a few ways you could do so:

*Live in the Chicago, IL area? Let’s meetup!

*Do you tweet? Wow! So do I! Come say hi!

*Become a fan on facebook

*I’ll also be attending Relevant 10 and BlogHer so let me know if you’ll be there, too :)

  2. Great to meet you. I’m a coffee and chocolate addict to, and I know all about overcommitting and taking on way more than I can handle. I am grappling with the idea that there is not time in the day to do all the wonderful things in life that I could do.

  3. The one thing I agree on is that Jesus did die for you and I! If it weren’t for Him taking all our sins upon Him, I am not sure mothering would be an easy job… too much guilt!

I had to give up caffeine, but miss the stuff. The headaches after I gave it up were horrible!

I want to invite you to join my party Opinions, Thoughts and Everyday Life

  7. Hi. Thanks for your visit to my blog. As I read your post, I started laughing – are you my twin? We seem to have everything from 1-10 in common! (with a few tweaks … ie – insert my own husband’s name, etc)
Wow. That’s funny. Nice to meet you, twin! Stop by anytime! :D

(Note – also have a cheap… uh, I mean FRUgal blog. It’s at http://www.frugalsteward.blogspot.com … just thought I’d put that out there :)

  8. I think I agreed with about 8 of your list of 10, so yes, we must be friends. Especially the one about mismatched outfits and lists – I’ve even been known to put something on a list after it’s complete, just because.
So glad I found your blog. I love it!

  9. Alicia, you have such a beautiful family. I had to laugh at #4, I used to match my children too. I was always afraid I’d lose one and forget what they were wearing. LOL Anyway, I hope you have a blessed weekend.

  12. Hi, Stopping by from UBP 2010 – my first. I don’t have a problem with mismatched clothes, but I can’t stand it when there is a stain that didn’t come out.

  14. Stopping by from the UBP! :-) Have struggled with the clothes-matching thing myself, especially since my girls are identical twins :-p But, it’s starting to get to a point that I’m just happy if they’re wearing clothes :-p

I’m kind of blog-hopping right now, but following you so I can be sure to come back later! :-D

  15. Hi! Just came over from the UBP. Your little guys are so cute! I used to have an obsession with my kids having matching clothes too. Now, as long as they have on CLEAN clothes, I am happy:)

Come on over and see me sometime!

  16. Nice meeting you! I think that matching outfits are cute. I’m an identical twin and we dressed alike until we were in junior high. It was fun until we developed our own unique tastes.

    So glad to meet you!

  17. Caffeine! YEAH gotta have some : )
If you visit me then please make it on Sundays. If you come during the week you will not like what you see….kids quite possibly wearing mis-matched clothing. Yeah, they don’t call ’em trendy for NOTHIN!

Hey, I’m trying to go FRUGAL. That’s like the new cool thing, right? I want to fit in. Maybe I should hang out with you to get my “frugal” groove on?

    Enjoy the party!!!

  19. Thanks for stopping by.
My daughter often does not match. I called it C-Style…and take pictures to remember later.
I decided it wasn’t a battle I needed to win…there are so many other things we have to control, I figured I didn’t need to control her clothes as long as they were weather appropriate.

  20. Thanks for popping by. Not sure if my first comment worked…I don’t see it here…and I goofed cause I made a typo in my name. :-)
    I’ll try again.
My daughter often does not match. She has her own style which I take lots of pics of to remember later. I’ve decided to only care if we are going/doing something that it really matters to me that she looks good.

  25. New follow from UBP. Good luck keeping the kids matching when they start picking out their clothes. I gave up on trying to make them match when my oldest started refusing to wear anything but teal skirt, a pair of pink and white leggings, and a neon rainbow striped shirt.

  26. Wow! We seem to have a lot in common! I am a crazy listmaker, think that being a mom is the best job EVER (which is why I’m gonna be a mom again in a few weeks), hate spending money (but I want to shop SO BAD), ok ok, all of 1-10 (except #2… I’d have to change that to Charles… ha ha).

Oh, what I’ve done with my daughter (she’s 18 months) is I will pull out two or three shirts, let her pick one, and then choose the pants and socks to go with. She’s got some control, and not a mismatched outfit! :) I know that will change later, but for now it works!
