I shared a couple weeks ago about one of our favorite winter Chicago events, the BMO Harris Bank Magnificent Lights Festival. My family had a chance to attend this year’s parade, as guests of BMO Harris Bank, and had some of the best seats in the house!
We sat in the Grandstand which was right behind the performances. My favorite performances were Drew Lachey and Blue Man Group. The boys enjoyed the groups that came out and performed songs.
They also loved all of the balloons that were in the parade. We had never been that close to them all but they are huge! I never realized how many people it took to hold on to them. Most of the people walking along the parade route were handing out goodies which the boys enjoyed receiving. Thankfully BMO Harris Bank gave use some things as well like hand warmers and blankets because it was cold out there!
The parade featured floats with performers, some of our favorite Chicago sports mascots, Luke’s favorite Toy Story characters and Mickey & Minnie Mouse.
Of course, Santa was there, too!
It was such a magical way to start the Christmas season! Thanks again to BMO Harris Bank for inviting my family to this fun event.
This looks like a great family event. I love to go to all the local Holiday parades.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays as a family We have done a number of awesome parades over the years and everyone always has a blast!
We were going to go this year, but left downtown too early. Good thing, the traffic was terrible!

There are so many great things to do here! Navy Pier has a winter wonderfest and there is a Christkindlmarket that’s great as well!
