Gyro Bowl Review and Giveaway

I saw commercials for the Gyro Bowl on television and wondered if it really worked as well as they said it did. I had a chance to really put it to the test when I got one to review and handed it over to my two year old. He is usually given a bag or a small bowl of snacks and half of it ends up on his lap or the floor by the time he is done. He also is very active which doesn’t help when he is holding his snacks.

I liked that the bowl was dishwasher safe and had handles that Lucas could hold. The fact that the bowl had little “feet” on the bottom of it was great because then it sat nicely when set down. It has a lid which makes it easy to take on the go which is a plus. The idea of the bowl was a fantastic one- make the inner bowl spin so that it would always be upright. Genuis!

So the big questions….DOES IT WORK? My answer: Yes, but I wouldn’t call it spill-proof. I don’t think it worked {for us} quite as good as the commercials make it seem like it will. The inner bowl did turn so that the bowl was always up right when he was moving but when he would make sudden movements cheerios would fall out of it. When he was sitting still it worked fine {but how many two year olds sit still?} WOULD I USE IT AGAIN? Yes, because it works a lot better than a plain old bowl does. WOULD I BUY ONE? Maybe. Right now there is a deal to buy 1 Gyro bowl, get one free. I would purchase it for that price but I don’t think I would pay $14.99 for one bowl.

  4. I like that it helps prevent spills…I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be 100% spill proof anyway, but I think kids like the way it looks. It is nice that it has handles!

  5. I like that it has a lid so I can store things in it and they won’t go bad!
